Camille Rhodes

Hi, I'm Cami — your friend in the fitting room.

I'm Camille Rhodes — Cami to literally everyone — former Nordstrom personal stylist, lifelong high-low shopper, at-home nail night devotee, and the woman behind The Styled Hanger.

I learned style from the original high-low queen: my mom. She raised three girls in Charlotte, North Carolina, mostly on her own, working two jobs — and still showed up everywhere looking impossibly polished. Her secret wasn't money. It was a thrifted blazer, one good lipstick, and more confidence than the room could hold. My teenage wardrobe was clearance racks, my big sister's hand-me-downs, and a sewing machine I used to crop, hem, and rescue everything. I didn't know it yet, but that was my education.

The formal version came later: a fashion merchandising degree, then seven years at Nordstrom — sales floor, visual merchandising, and finally three years as a personal stylist. That last job changed everything. I dressed hundreds of real women: sizes 00 to 24, ages 18 to 70, every budget and every "I hate my arms" you can imagine. I learned what gapes, what pills, what looks incredible on the hanger and betrays you on a body. Most of all, I learned that every single woman who sat in my fitting room just wanted the same thing — to look in the mirror and feel like herself, but a little more so.

When styling appointments went virtual in 2020, my clients started screenshotting my outfit boards and sending them to their friends. Those boards became The Styled Hanger, and in 2023, this blog became my full-time job.

Here's what you'll find on my rack:

Outfit formulas, not just outfits. Repeatable combinations you can rebuild from your own closet — because style isn't about having more clothes, it's about knowing what to do with the ones you have.
Honest fit notes, always. I'm 5'4", usually a size 10, and every review tells you what size I took and how it actually fit. If the viral jeans gape, you'll see the photo.
High-low forever. A $30 dress styled well beats a $300 dress styled lazy. When I do splurge, I show you the cost-per-wear math.
The whole look. Five-minute hairstyles, heatless techniques, and my Sunday-night kitchen-table manicures — all self-timed, all honest about what you actually need. (Quick note: I'm an experienced enthusiast with hair and nails, not a licensed cosmetologist — anything chemical or corrective, I'll always send you to a pro.)
No body-shame, ever. You will never read "hide" or "flatter your problem areas" here. Every body is a real body. I dressed them for a living.

These days I write from my Atlanta apartment, where a clothing rack has fully colonized the dining area, my dachshund Pretzel supervises every try-on, and my boyfriend Marcus has learned to say "the second outfit" with total conviction. Weekends are for thrift hauls, hot yoga, and closet-swap parties with my girlfriends. My best find remains a $12 blazer that has appeared in more posts than I can count.

Whether you're rebuilding your work wardrobe, learning a five-minute bun, or painting your nails during one episode of something trashy — welcome. Pull up a hanger.

Go get dressed like you mean it,
Cami 🧷
